c1960s Necklace and Bracelet with Turquoise-coloured Stones

Description

This matching style necklace and bracelet teams gleaming goldtone metal with turquoise-coloured stones! The necklace is a slim design, which features a single row of rectangular metal sections, edged with a row of round glass stones in an attractive turquoise shade. The stones are securely prong-held to their goldtone metal bases, and their faceted finish provides them with a softly shimmering effect. The necklace has a hook and chain type clasp, with both elements (plus the oval drop at the end of the chain) made from shining goldtone metal. This clasp type allows the length of the necklace to be varied slightly, depending where on the chain the hook is positioned. It is a choker style, meaning that it rests on or near the collarbone.

The bracelet displays the same round stones and metal sections as seen in the necklace, but is formed from five rows, rather than two. The row along the centre of the bracelet features stones which are slightly larger than those used along the outside edges. Both necklace and bracelet reveal bright goldtone metal backs, and the bracelet is fitted with a push-in clasp and safety chain. Interestingly, the chain is fixed on either side of the push-in clasp (i.e. it has no catch to undo), and the hand is simply slipped through the bracelet prior to clicking the clasp shut. Both the necklace and bracelet are suprisingly light to wear, and we see their golden colouring and vibrant touches of blue making an attractive accompaniment to summery outfits!

Condition

Necklace - Excellent Plus. The necklace looks to have been rarely, if ever, worn, and is consequently in highly desirable condition. The goldtone metal displays an impressive gleam on both front and back, and reveals no scratches or spots of discolouration. The hook and chain clasp shows no evidence of use, and it secures the necklace efficiently. The glass stones are clean and tightly held to their settings, with a turquoise colour that remains an eyecatching contrast to the metal.

Bracelet - Excellent. The bracelet has also survived in very attractive condition, as it reveals barely any evidence of age or wear. The glass stones are all present and are firmly prong-held to their metal settings - as with the necklace, they show minimal nicks or scratches to their glass, even when viewed with a magnifier. The goldtone metal has a smooth and shining finish on both front and back, plus on the fine-linked safety chain; the only spots of discolouration to the metal appear on the end links of the chain, and at the back of the bracelet, near the clasp. The clasp itself looks to have been seldom used, and it closes securely.
